Multilayer coextruded thermoformable barrier film.

• Can be used as the bottom thermoforming film for vacuum or MAP packaging of chilled or frozen food products and withstands pasteurization during w hours at 95C at thermoformers to extend the product shelf life.
• is a unique packaging solution, the world’s first biaxially oriented film for classical thermoforming.

Composition:

These films are made from polyamide, polyolefin, polyethylene terephthalate, EVOH and adhesive (modified polyethylene). All films are permitted for use in the food industry.

Advantages:

1. These films have the minimal thickness, but can be easily formed into mechanically robust products without critical thinning, while preserving their high barrier characteristics, and withstand the transportation impacts.

2. These films guarantee:

•    a long shelf life and an attractive appearance of the packaged products;
•    better consumer properties of the packaging material without extra price tags.

3. The film reduces the manufacturing wastes (loss of vacuum and puncture) and the food product wastes, thus alleviating the environmental burden.

4. The outer layer made  of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) provides for excellent optical properties (gloss and transparency) and heat resistance of the film.

5. The polyamide layer (РА) provides for excellent strength characteristics of the film.

6. Ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) procures for a high oxygen barrier and provides for:

•    microbiological stability of the products during storage;
•    retardation of the oxidation processes that cause rancidification of the fats contained in the food products.

7. The inner polyethylene (РЕ) layer allows sealing within a wide temperature range to obtain a tight seal, and provides a barrier to water vapor (zero weight losses during storage).

8. Biaxial orientation of the film provides for even stretching in the course of forming and excellent strength properties (including the corners).

9. Low specific weight of the film (kg/m2) ensures a perfect product to packaging weight ratio.

Printing: This film is suitable for single-color, multi-color or CMYK printing with the use of inks based on volatile solvents.
Printing is applied by the flexographic method. The inks are resistant to boiling, fats, and mechanical impacts.
Forms of supply: Reels on dia 76mm cardboard cores.
Recommendations on use:
Sealing temperature: 120 – 150 °С.
Forming temperature: 95 – 115 °С.
The forming and sealing parameters should be selected based on trials and depend on the specific equipment, and also on the film thickness and type.
